PRACTICAL GUIDE

A better project starts with a better brief.

Answer these eight questions before a website or automation discovery call.

Create your project brief

Write a few notes, then copy or download your brief. Your answers stay in this page until you close or refresh it.

Fill in your brief

1. What business problem are we solving?

Describe the current situation with a concrete example. What happens today, and what would you like to happen instead?

2. Who uses it?

Name the audience, the internal operator and the person who approves the work.

3. What does the first version include?

List essential pages or workflows and identify anything that can wait.

4. What evidence can you provide?

Collect approved copy, brand assets, examples, current system access and any baseline measurements.

5. What needs to connect?

List existing hosting, forms, CRM, email and messaging providers. Note who owns the accounts. Do not put passwords in the brief.

6. What constraints matter?

State the budget range, a useful deadline, privacy requirements and required approval steps.

7. How will we accept the delivery?

Define observable checks: a user can complete the journey, data is saved correctly and the owner can operate it.

8. What happens after launch?

Assign maintenance, monitoring, support hours, renewals and review cadence.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

Bring the problem, not a perfect document.

Use these eight answers as notes for the first conversation. You can begin with the current challenge and fill in the rest together.
